Garlic-Rosemary NY Steak
No grill, no problem! This effortless yet super flavorful way of cooking steak will leave you thinking you don’t even need a grill.
Garlic, rosemary, and butter are the only ingredients you’ll need to take your steak to the next level. I also decided to add caramelized onions for that extra charred taste. Pan searing steak allows you to creat a beautiful nice crust without over drying or over cooking it. Enjoy it with my three herb chimichurri recipe!
Prep Time: 20 min Cook Time: 10 min
Yields 4 (1” thick steaks)
Ingredients :
4 1” thick cut NY steaks
5-7 cloves of garlic
1 Bunch of rosemary
3 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/2 tablespoons of corse kosher salt
1/2 tablespoon fresh cracked pepper
1/4 tablespoon of ground cumin
Method:
Preheat the canola oil on high heat in a large cast iron skillet or on a non stick pan.
Season the steaks on each side.
When the oil is hot careful place the steaks without moving for 3 minutes.
Flip to the opposite side and add in the butter, garlic and rosemary. Cook for another 3 mins.
With a large spoon, baste the steak with the butter in the pan for another two minutes.
Take out and let rest.
Serve with caramelized onions or a chimichurri sauce.
*Keep in mind the thickness of the steak, if you use a thicker cut, use the same method until you’ve reached the desired internal temperature.
